Celine teaches voice to willing students ages 7 and up.

What genres does Celine teach?

Celine is equipped to teach Classical, Popular, Folk, Country, Rock music, and Musical Theatre, with the most specialization in Classical, Musical Theatre, Popular, and Country. Celine is happy to explore new genres with students beyond her specialization!

Why should I work with Celine?

Celine is passionate about singing and vocal pedagogy (the art of teaching singing). Along with her Master’s in vocal pedagogy, performance experience, and over seven years of teaching experience, Celine loves to help students discover their voice. Celine's students have gone on to acquire principal roles in local musicals, achieve honour levels in their RCM* exams, place at local music competitions, qualify for provincial-level competitions, as well as be accepted to university programs for voice studies and music. "Since I started taking lessons with Celine, I’ve seen a huge difference not only in my technique and range, but also in my confidence. Through her kindness and encouragement, she has a way of inspiring her students to perform and share their music. "

Are previous music lessons, voice lessons, or other experience required?

Absolutely not! Celine loves to start with students wherever they are at.

I have been told I am "tone deaf" by a friend/family member/music teacher. Are singing lessons suitable for me?

Absolutely! True “tone deafness” or amusia is estimated to affect only between 2% and 5% of the population.(1) Hearing and making music are skills that can be developed for many. If you love to learn and want to sing, then voice lessons are a great option!

So... How does it work?

Tuition

My voice studio follows a tuition system. My teaching year is divided into two semesters, which is paid through equal monthly payments. A monthly payment reserves your weekly spot in my studio as well as covering items such as lesson preparation, repertoire research, administrative work, recital organizing and fees, rental costs and insurance, provision of extra resources such as practice tracks, music copies, and equipment, and further professional development through NATS*, PAVA*, and other professional associations. Email Me for more information about tuition or alternative "drop-in" lessons.

Semester 1, 2024: September 3 - December 6 (14 lessons)

Semester 2, 2025: January 7 - June 6 (21 lessons)

What happens if I have to miss my lesson?

Under the tuition system, students are issued lesson credits for missed lessons, so long as I am given 24 hours notice of the missed lesson. All students have two lesson credits available during the Fall semester and three lesson credits available during the Winter/Spring semester. When you receive a lesson credit, you can redeem it in the flex weeks at the end of each semester. An extra lesson credit may be given for absence due to religious holidays if needed, so long as proper notice is given.

Semester 1 flex weeks: December 9 - December 20 (2024)

Semester 2 flex weeks: June 9 - June 27 (2025)

Drop-in Lessons

Weekly lessons are strongly recommended for most students, as it is the best way to make the necessary, consistent progress. For more advanced students, or where a weekly lesson is not possible, occasional lessons can be booked when my schedule allows. 24-hour notice is required for the cancellation of a drop-in lesson.
